Great overland guide!

Mind posting your build while taming and final build for those interested?

OLD OUT DATED TEMPLATES! DO NOT USE THESE, CHECK #TAMING FOR GUIDANCE

I've GMed two tamers, a bard tamer and a dexxer tamer (I prefer the bard):

Tamer #1 (Bard Tamer)

  • Animal Taming (eventually will go to 120)
  • Animal Lore (eventually will go to 120)
  • Music (eventually will go to 120)
  • Peace (eventually will go to 120)
  • Tracking
  • Magery 90 (for rezzing, heals, cures)
  • Meditation (whatevers left)

Tamer #2 (Dexxer Tamer)

  • Animal Taming
  • Animal Lore
  • Vet
  • Healing (use pots for curing)
  • Fencing/Swords/Mace/Archery (I've switched this many times)
  • Tactics
  • Resist

Great guide, worked out well. Definitely wasn't a fun grind so the assistance from this guide was very much appreciated. My only constructive criticism to add would be to tame something other than dragons at 95. Molten Mongbats are great for this, dragons are a royal pain in the butt to efficiently tame over and over.

Thanks for the guide.

Are you magery healing pets on your first tamer? How do you res dead bonded pets?

Im guessing with peacemaking his pets aren't taking much damage and can be healed with magery. You can rezz bonded pets via vet, rezz spell, stabling/unstabling, or walking by a healer.

ah custom server mechanic. I'm going to make a tamer today but I really hate relying on magery for healing. Got a good template that incorporates Vet? Or would you say its pretty easy and inexpensive to keep pets alive with magery with that template?

When I farm in dungeons I have 100 of each reg and rarely run out of regs. I very rarely need to heal, usually only in emergency situations when I fail a peace. Higher end mobs are tough but if you get self-healing pets like bloodworms you never have to heal.

I farm with 2 bloodworms and an aegis asp.

Khal, what are your Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence stats on the Bard Tamer?

You still running that setup?

Thank you for the help!

Anyone who is interested can place a vendor at the rune library house by clicking the vendor rental deeds on the floor of the house! Really high traffic here, over 2k per week!

Why have Tracking on your bard tamer? I read here that Tracking doesn't increase damage: http://forums.uooutlands.com/index.php?threads/animal-taming-faq.1353/

It's mainly for PK detection and barding bonus. I sometimes switch between Tracking and Discord. Both are viable options.

Nice work on this guide - I am having trouble using the rune book from your vendor house. It says, I dont have permission to use the recall charges. Any idea how to solve this?

Just cast recall and use regs.
