Do you understand?You've probably heard that in terms of health, barefoot shoes are better than classic shoes, but to understand why, we need to understand how our feet are meant to be and what their functions are.If you want more in depth info about it comment MORE and we'll send you a link to our blog post directly into your DMs.Dysfunctional feet are feet with squished toes that are not aligned in the direction of the metatarsals. Such feet have poor joint mobility, they are unable to pronate and supinate properly during the gait cycle, and the big toe is not actively involved in the push-off phase.The foot must be able to spread properly in the shoe, while the toes ought to line up with the metatarsals.On the picture above, you can see how incorrectly shaped (modern) shoes that are too tight cause the concave shape of the metatarsal joints (toes don't have enough room, they are pushed together). This causes an incorrect distribution of pressure during movement and can lead to bunions (extremely common deformity), hard skin on the foot in the area between 2nd and 3rd metatarsal heads and uneven wear on the sole and socks.Do you want to learn more?
